Financial Literacy : Money Management Seminars and Training

I have included a list of ‘suggested’ seminar outlines. Depending on your time frame, you can choose 3 hour, 1 full day or a 2 day seminar – whichever suits your needs best. These seminars can easily be modified to include specific topics you’d like addressed. Please contact me for fees. Pricing for the seminars will be based on customization to your needs.

3 Hour Seminar MONEY CLASS PROPOSAL – Times are tentative, to be adjusted as needed. This proposal calls for each class to meet for 1 morning, afternoon or evening. Class size should not exceed 45 students.

Morning 8:45 – 11:45

  • 8:45 – 9:00 – Welcome, get books, introduction
  • 9:00 – 9:30 –  Budgets (fixed vs variable expense)
  • 9:30 – 9:50 – Credit, Credit cards and payments
  • 9:50 – 10:05 – Break
  • 10:05 – 10:20 – Compound interest
  • 10:20 – 10:40 – 401k’s
  • 10:40 – 11:00 – Roth IRAs
  • 11:00 – 11:20 – Buying a house
  • 11:20 – 11:35 – Buying a car
  • 11:35 – 11:45 – Wrap up, questions.
Evening 6:30 – 9:30

  • 6:30 – 6:45 – Welcome, get books, introduction
  • 6:45 – 7:15 – Budgets (fixed vs variable expense)
  • 7:15 – 7:35 – Credit, Credit cards and payments
  • 7:35 – 7:50 – Break
  • 7:50 – 8:05 – Compound interest
  • 8:05 – 8:25 – 401k’s

  • 12:00 – 1:00 – Lunch
Afternoon Session(3 hrs)

  • 1:00 – 2:00 –  Credit, Credit Cards & Payments, Debit Cards
  • 2:00 – 2:50 – How to buy a Car
  • 2:50 – 3:00 – Break
  • 3:00 – 3:45 –  How to buy a House
  • 3:45 – 4:00 – Wrap up, questions
 

2 Day Seminars MONEY CLASS PROPOSAL – Times are tentative, to be adjusted as needed.

This proposal calls for each class to meet two consecutive days, morning or afternoon. Class size should not exceed 45 students. (90 students served in 2 days.) These classes could be repeated 2 or 3 times a week – Monday/Tuesday, Wednesday/Thursday, Friday.

Day 1 Session 1 8:00 – 12:00 (4 hrs)

  • 8:00 – 815 – Introduction to the class
  • 8:15 – 9:00 –  Compound interest
  • 9:00 – 9:30 –  Roth IRA’s
  • 9:30 – 9:50 – Snack/break
  • 9:50 – 10:20-  Roth IRA’s con’t
  • 10:20 – 11:00 –  401k’s
  • 11:00 – 12:00 –  Budgets
  • Day 1 Session 2 – Repeat with new set of afternoon students 1:00 – 5:00
Day 2 Session 18:30 – 12:00 (3.5 hrs)

  • 8:30 – 8:45 – Greet and go over homework
  • 8:45 – 9:45 – Credit, Credit Cards & Payments, Debit Cards
  • 9:45 – 10:05 – Snack/break
  • 10:05 – 10:50 –  How to buy a Car
  • 10:50 – 11:40 –  How to buy a House
  • 11:40 – 12:00 – Wrap up, Questions
  • Day 2 Session 2 – Repeat with afternoon students 1:00 – 4:30
 

Money Class Proposal For Challenged Individuals (High functioning)  (to be modified as needed, all times are tentative).  Classes have been designed for 4 meetings and include socialization skills. Those listed are only suggestions and can/will be modified to suit your needs.

It is recommended to have helpers or assistants to work with each student. Class should not exceed 15 students + helpers.

Day 1 8:30 – 12:00

  • 8:30 – 845 – Introduction to the class
  • 8:45 – 10:00 –  Budget
  • 10:00 – 10:20 – Snack/break
  • 10:20 – 11:00 – Social Activity (practice interview skills)
  • 11:00 – 11:40 –  Paychecks & W2’s – include how important it is to hold on to the documents.
  • 11:40 – 12:00 – Wrap up, Questions
Day 2 8:30 – 12:00

  • 8:30 – 8:45 am – Greet and go over homework
  • 8:45 – 10:00 –  Checking Account & Debit Cards
  • 10:00 – 10:20 – Snack/break
  • 10:20 – 11:00 – Social Activity (meet with bank personnel)
  • 11:00 – 11:40 –  Credit, Credit Cards & Payments
  • 11:40 – 12:00 – Wrap up, Questions
Day 3 8:30 – 12:00

  • 8:30 – 8:45 – Greet and go over homework
  • 8:45 – 10:00 –  How to buy a Car
  • 10:00 – 10:20 – Snack/break
  • 10:20 – 11:00 – Social Activity (view a car for sale, talk with salesman)
  • 11:00 – 11:40  –  How to buy a House
  • 11:40 – 12:00 – Wrap up, Questions
Day 4 8:30 – 12:00

  • 8:30 – 8:45 am – Greet and go over homework
  • 8:45 – 10:00 –  Compound interest & 401k’s
  • 10:00 – 10:20 – Snack/break
  • 10:20 – 11:15  –  Roth IRA’s
  • 11:15 – 11:30 – Wrap up, Questions
  • 11:30 – 12:00 – Graduation, small party, award certificates
